CEA Shirt Pickup Today at 4:00 pm
Despite the weather, CEA will still offer t-shirt pickup at Nando’s Mexican Cafe today from 4:00-6:00 pm. If wind and dust is still an issue, shirt pickup and happy hour will be moved inside instead of being held on the patio.
Even if you didn’t order a shirt, please come join us for happy hour at Nando’s … there will be a lot to discuss after today’s announcement at the capitol!
AZ SPI Candidate Forum Available to Watch Online
You might recall that on January 30, CEA and VIP sponsored a forum that featured all eight candidates for Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction. If you couldn’t make it that night, we have good news: that forum is now available online to watch in its entirety! You can watch the forum on YouTube using this link, or by viewing the video below.
AEA Spring Membership Drive Begins April 1
AEA’s annual spring membership drive is now underway! If you sign up to be a member between April 1 and May 31, you will not need to begin paying dues until the fall! With all of the momentum behind the #REDforED movement, this is a perfect time to join an organization that has been fighting for Arizona educators and students at the local, state, and national levels for decades. From school board races to the Arizona Capitol to the U.S. Congress, CEA, AEA, and NEA are gearing up for the critical elections coming up in August and November. The more members we have, the better able we will be to fight for our profession!
If you would like to take advantage of this membership offer, please complete our Spring Membership form and return it to your site representative, or send it to Sara Crismon at Bologna Elementary.
Please note that specific benefits such as employment liability insurance may be limited until you begin having dues deducted from your paycheck in the fall. Contact AEA at (602) 264-1774 for more details.
CEA Organizing #REDforED T-Shirt Order
UPDATE – April 2, 2018: Acme Prints has put their #REDforED shirts back up on their website! Please read below for full instructions on how to place your order.
There has been so much demand for #REDforED t-shirts that CEA will be organizing another round of orders for our members. You can place the order yourself by going online to Acme Prints and selecting the shirt(s) you would like to purchase. If you would like CEA to pick up your t-shirt, you must be sure to do the following when you check out:
- In Step 4: Shipping Method, select Pick-up @ Acme Prints
- In Step 5: Order Confirmation, enter “Chandler EA will pick up my order” in the Order Instructions/Comments
The deadline to place your order is Friday, April 6 … no extensions will be made. CEA will distribute these shirts at Nando’s Mexican Cafe from 4:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, April 12. This will also be a great way for us to proudly wear our #REDforED in public and raise more awareness of education issues facing our state!
If you cannot attend the shirt distribution event on April 12, you can still order your own shirts and either pick them up yourself or pay for the shirt to be shipped to your home.
#REDforED Shirts Still Available!
Thanks to everyone who wore #REDforED at our district rally. It was fantastic to see such an awesome display of unity, and we even made local news!
There is still much more to do, starting with the March 28 Day of Action at the Capitol … so if you don’t already have a #REDforED t-shirt, you should get one! You can order #REDforED shirts directly from ACME Prints (these are the same shirts that many wore to the rally, pictured to the right) or order a different Red for Ed shirt from SOS Arizona. These shirts will be delivered directly to you, so there is no need to pick them up. Order your shirts today!
