California Casualty Offers Grants for Classroom, Athletic Activities

California Casualty Insurance is now offering an Academic Award program to help teachers pay for school supplies, instructional materials, etc. CEA members, you could win up to $2,500 for your classroom!

California Casualty is also offering the Thomas R. Brown Athletic Grant for junior high and high school athletic programs. The deadline to apply for this grant is January 15, so be sure to apply soon.

Ballots have been delivered for the CUSD override election … now it’s time to get out the vote! Please spread the word to family and friends about the importance of the override to our district. Virtual AR Meeting on Tuesday, September 19

Our next AR meeting will be held on Tuesday, September  19 at 4:15 pm. This will be a virtual meeting where ARs have the opportunity to attend in person (at the district office) or  online using Google Hangouts Meet. If you’d like to attend using your computer, make sure you have a microphone (a webcam would be nice, too) and an up-to-date version of Google Chrome. If you plan on attending using your smartphone, be sure to download the Hangouts Meet app for iOS or Android. There will be a test call on Monday, September 18 at 4:15 pm if you’d like to make sure your technology is working properly to participate online. ARs should check their e-mail for full details on how to connect to the meeting and the test call. Remember … you’d rather attend in person, just come to the district office at 4:15!

VIP Fall Forum on Tuesday, September 19

Our friends at Valley Interfaith Project (VIP) will be holding a Fall Forum this Tuesday, September 19. The forum will be held at 6:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Dayspring United Methodist Church in Tempe, and will work to plan local strategies to shift the direction of Arizona politics and safeguard our vulnerable populations.
